Sure, it’s possible to find some wins in the short term by playing the downside on specific stocks or sectors. But over time, the investors with the most optimism and intestinal fortitude are the ones who make the big money.
As Alex is fond of saying, nothing outperforms a diversified portfolio of common stocks – as long as you’re patient enough to wait out the short-term moves in those stocks.
