Cites Her Commitment to Protecting Earned Social Security and Medicare Benefits
Carrollton – Members of the Alliance for Retired Americans proudly announced their endorsement of Jan McDowell for election to the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas’s 24th Congressional District today. The Texas Alliance for Retired Americans is a grassroots advocacy organization with more than 152,000 members across the state.
“Jan McDowell understands the challenges facing older Americans, and retirees in Texas can be confident that she will fight for our interests in Washington,” said Gene Lantz, president of the Texas Alliance. “She knows that seniors have earned the Social Security and Medicare benefits they rely on, and she will battle every day to protect them from cuts. We are pleased to endorse her.”
Her opponent, Rep. Beth Van Duyne, has earned a lifetime score of 0% in the Alliance’s Congressional Voting Record.
“We can also count on Jan to fight to allow Medicare to negotiate lower prices for the life-saving prescription drugs older people rely on,” Lantz added. “She has worked with the Texas Alliance as an ally in looking out for the best interests of seniors for years. Voting for the candidate who will put older Texans first is essential to our health and economic security.”
